The Winter Elf
(a Sonnet)

If you believe my frozen grandeur strange
My icy visage might turn you aside,
You will not like this climate's chilling range
For, only here, the winter folk abide.

But, should you wish to see the way we live
And do not fear the choices that we make
Prepare to suffer while you learn to give
From bleakest life, there is not much to take.

Fair Blodeuwedd preserves these glacial plains
Pay grateful homage while she soars the skies!
O, Snowy Owl from Springtime's fine remains,
The sacred Goddess that we dearly prize.

I am the Winter Elf that's here to show
A living force that you, perhaps, don't know.
