The Spirit of Orm Awakens
The sun glows warm upon the Earth
Clover stalks the hills
Cherry blossoms paint the sky
From Mother new life spills.
Arise from Winter’s slumber
Breath the sweetened air
Renew your body’s energy
But, brother, have a care!
Do you feel the tremors
That disturb the peaceful ground?
The season’s storms still threaten
Beware the burial mound!
The Queen of Orm arises
From dark and icy grave
Awakening her children
Ferocious, sleek, and brave.
The Spring has sounded warning
Sacred, violent, loud
Life struggles for existence
Efficient, brutal, proud!
When the scarab beetle soars
Rebirth envelops all
Dragons stir in mountain lairs
Thanes gather in the Hall
Embrace Thor’s mighty hammer
Call on Freya’s grace
Repair your shield and sharpen sword
Measure out your space
This wicked blue seductress
From life’s eternal source
Seethes with primal energy
Earth’s awesome spirit force!
The Orm, they are among us
Great Odin thus declared
We thrive on constant struggle
For life we are prepared.
A goddess will not intervene
To soothe green Dragon’s fire
All beings have a natural place
That warriors must admire.
Giants, elves and human kind
Might share a common land
Wyrd, man only partially makes
For Nature has command.
The Spring arrives with glory
But viciously rips through
The meek and the defenseless
So keep your spirit true.
The beauty and the wonder
Will bless you when you see
The miracles around you
If strong, you will be free.
Awaken ancient mighty Queen!
Join life’s bitter quest
Come near our wives and children
We’ll slay you at our best!
The act of life, astounding!
Springtime we do praise
With sword and human verse
We’ll live with dragons’ blaze.
