Aêlst and the Birth of Goblin Modernism 12/02/2010
Aêlst and the Birth of Goblin Modernism was selected as a Froudian Poem for Dec. 2010. I really like this poem. I think it complements of Terry Jones' description of Aelst from Goblins of Labyrinth. Puts me in the mood to write a few more goblin poems to complete my fan project. I will keep you posted. Add Comment Pain Spriggans 11/01/2010
Pain Spriggans was selected as a Froudian Poem of the Month, much to my surprise. I wrote this poem when my bursa became inflamed and was very painful for two weeks. I forgot I submitted it. I think WOF is just taking the first poem from my que. Oh well, at least the Froud image is very cool...haha. Silly poem. Spriggans are said to cause havoc with crops. I figured that they were probably haunting my shoulder. Free Bregg the Poet!! 10/01/2010
Free Bregg the Poet! was selected as a World of Froud Poem for October, 2010. I believe this work to be a very disgusting, slimy and delicious poem for Halloween. This is my 8th poem selected for the Froudian Forum Artists. Nobody at the World of Froud has ever commented or thanked me for my enthusiastic participation. That's kind of a bummer. It sure would be cool to get a wink and a nod from Brian and/or Wendy...or Terry Jones, for that matter. I have yet to write my Ari Berk Goblin poems for my Tribute...but read Goblins and selected a few possible targets for wacky and whimsical goblin ditties... Happy Halloween!! Fashion and The Circus 09/18/2010
I wrote two artist-inspired poems last week. A Fairy's Winter Outfit was inspired by Myrea Pettit's Winter Outfit. I thought it was an appropriate time to write this piece, during Fashion Week in NYC...which I know nothing about, and could be more far removed from...haha...except as fashion relates to costume, which, of course, I love...and unfortunately do not take part in enough now-a-days. The Fairy Circus was inspired by Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Fairy Circus. The inspiration for this needs no explanation. Her little wide-eyed beauties are charming. She sure has painted a lot of them. I did not realize how popular she is until recently. I requested the use of the image on my website, but imagine it could take awhile to hear back. Bad Entertainment: The Goblins in the Pub 09/09/2010
Bad Entertainment: The Goblins in the Pub was selected as a Froudian Poem of the Month for September 2010. http://www.worldoffroud.com/www/froudians/frdpoems/index.cfm The Mermaids of Brighton Beach 09/03/2010
I have had this poem on my docket for a while now. I still have not finished it, but I thought I would post part one, nonetheless. The Mermaids of Brighton Beach will be a chapter story-poem, along the lines of Fairies in the City: The New York Adventures of Dew and Drop, but with a different rhyme-scheme. If anyone has any suggestions about what you would like to see the mermaids or the traveling merman do in this story, let me know. What the heck...? 09/03/2010
Sometimes, you just appreciate the little things in life. On this particular evening, I was impressed by the functionality and space-saving elegance of my garment rack. So, just as might be expected of a fairy poet, I wrote a poem about her, it...whatever. Without further ado: The Lady is a Garment Rack. Android Phone Poems... 08/27/2010
So, I wrote two funny little poems on my Samsung Moment Android with a free notepad app. Do you See? and The Fairy on Your Toe. Why, you may ask? That is a good question because with my big ol' troll thumbs, and below average texting skills, it really is a cumbersome endeavor. On top of that, I could not mail the notepad text to my email, so what's the point? I ended up re-typing them into Word. So, I guess the reason for writing two cell phone poems is to be able to say I did. Haha! Japanese girls wrote entire novels on their cell-phones. And they were published! They must have little fairy-fingers. The 50 Monks Limericks 08/20/2010
Okay...why did I add these silly little monk limericks to Fairypoet.com? Well, admittedly, some of the limericks are sillier than others, and some are just downright bad [but I can't help liking them]. Many, although, are very well-thought out poetic little exercises. Some of the very best are by Dorothea Barth and the mysterious EHTIYOT. I wrote a few good ones too, if I don't say so myself! Anyway...silly little libatious, farty, flirty monks are funny!! You know...like Friar Tuck! Enjoy the Madness! Feel free to contribute! Send me an email with a limerick and I will included it in the canon. In nomine Patris et filli et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. Finding Fae at Spoutwood Farm 08/05/2010
I am very pleased with the results of my efforts to capture the feelings and emotions that I experienced after my very first fairy festival, and am glad that I chose Spoutwood Farm [with much happy nudging by David Riche]. I am also happy that FAE Magazine suggested that I limit my article [which I was 1500 words into on the first draft] to 500 words. I knew I could not do that, so I opted for a story-poem, knowing I could express more of my feelings in this format. I managed to write a fairly complete poem in 840 words. I can imagine adding another chapter after Spoutwood 2011..mmm? I also don't mind at all that FAE decided not to include the poem in the Summer 2010 issue. Felicity le Fay and Oliver le Fay [FAE magazine correspondents] responded: "It's absolutely fantastic! We loved it." That was most excellent news for me, since it was Felicity's article "In Search of Faery Men" that inspired me to visit Spoutwood. Now it has a proper home on the Spoutwood Webstie. That makes me happy. | AuthorHi! I am the Fairy Poet. I think what I do should be pretty obvious to one and all...and hopefully you may enjoy it as much as I do. ArchivesDecember 2010 CategoriesAll |
