Toe Fairy by Bibliotroll Jack

The Fairy on Your Toe

See that fairy in your room
That settled on your toe
Will you let him rest a bit
Or tell him he should go?

Do you wonder if you’d had
Perhaps too much to drink
Or question your own sanity
Soak your head in icy sink?

Might you call a therapist
And tell her you’ve gone mad
Or curl into a tiny ball
And chant, oh...this might be bad.

Well, THAT would be a waste of time
A moment could be lost
The fairy that just came to you
Might have paid a cost.

To spend his time awakening
Your fearful, timid mind
You should'nt worry why he’s there
Just show him that you’re kind.

Wink and play a peek-a-boo
Scrunch a silly nose
Stick your tongue out playfully
And strike a valiant pose

Make a sketch and sing a song
Write a verse or two
Pour a dram for fairy friend
And let him share with you.

Offer him a cotton ball
Where he can make a bed
Smile as you go to sleep
There is no more to dread.
