Thanks for the Legume!
Give thanks for the legume
All hail the mighty bean
The all-American food source
North, south, and in between
The pinto and the lima
Black, white, or shades of green
Lentils and garbanzo
A clean and pure protein
Add organic rice that's brown
With carrots and some spice
Molasses, chilies, onions
A splash of Guinness might be nice
A hearty baked corn muffin
Yams and broccoli, lightly steamed
Yellow squash and vegan stuffing
This is the meal I've dreamed
This table sounds delightful
And I will make it mine
Dip whole grain bread in olive oil
And freely pour the wine
Dessert comes from a bottle
A glass of Grand Marnier
She's always vegan-friendly
We like her best that way
It's Turkey Liberation Day!
And time to have some fun
Of course I'll watch some football
And take the doggie for a run!
No animals were ever harmed
To make this pleasant feast
My morals will remain in tact
While cruelty is decreased
