Pigskin Fairy!

I'm a poet who likes football
Who writes of fairy things
I also like museums
And how the choir sings

No doubt, I like the pigskin
This rough and tumble sport
The running and the smashing
How big and brawn cavort

Yes, I’m into nature
And search for inner-calm
I relate to dance and symphony
And love the QB’s bomb

So…I dig the gridiron
Eleven on each side
High school, pro, or college
Get mean!  Get pumped!  Collide!

Okay, call me an animal
Condemn the "waste of time"
But you gotta give it up
For football-fairy rhyme!

Gladiators thrill me
Opera can do so too
At least I’m being honest
Man-balance, through-and-through

So, take me to the stadium
Where the town-folk roam
We’ll barbeque and tailgate
And I’ll feel right at home

Tap the keg and pass the chips
Send your team to a bowl
Dream big for town and country
Run routes, touchdown, and GOOAAALLLL!

A football fairy fantasy
Put some Irish in my flask
We poets, happy football fans
Are wired to the task!
