Spriggans©Brian Froud

Pain Spriggans

off my back
leave my arm
depart my shoulder
you cause alarm

out you go
unwanted spriggan
make haste, be gone
from the limb you've stricken

unwelcome Fae
you cause me pain
go fight your wars
in fields of grain

I took a stroll
among the trees
I meant no harm
if you please

If I stepped
on your abode
I feel bad
you beared that load

how you came
to start this tussle
I know not how
inside my muscle

although your small
I know your power
you make me hurt
my mood is sour

I'll leave some coin
to your kind
if you repair
the nerves you grind

kill my pain
I'll guard your home
and warn others
where you roam.
