Fairy Daddy-Daughter Day
My pops and I went for a walk
Which made the other goblins talk
For goblins like to sit and drool
To scratch and stink is goblin-cool
But pops just grins and strolls away
He has no time for goblin-play
For I am looking at my best
And we are going on a quest
Off to find the forest trail
I follow closely on his tail
He donned his very special hat
He took a bath! I'm proud of that!
"Pops, you walk with urgency
I’m sure there’s no emergency!?"
"My little one, we're on our way
To find a special, magic day"
On the way into the woods
We stole a local farmer's goods
We frightened humans, big and small
Well…we're goblins after all
By the trees we found our selves
And there we met a pair of elves
An elf-girl just as old as me
And her daddy, proud and free
"Ahh, the goblins...just on time
Meet my girl, she's so sublime."
"DAD! Don't be such a jerk!
God, you're such a piece of work"
We marched on, a happy four
And entered through a magic door
To a land I've never known
That sent chills to every bone
Shortly, a nice dwarf walked by
With his daughter who waved, "HI !"
"We're so glad to see you here
Just on time you did appear!"
The six of us began our trek
Our silly dads, a joyous wreck
We girls all shouted desperately
"Dad! You are embarrassing me!"
After what seemed minutes few
We stumbled upon pixies, two
"Greetings goblin, dwarf, and elf!"
“This is my daughter, and I’m myself!”
Our pixie-friend just rolled her eyes
"We know dad, you are such a prize!"
We companions now were eight
Pops clapped his hands, "let’s not be late!”
By now our hearts were beating fast
Our little patience wouldn't last
"Are we there yet, daddy, please!?
We're hungry and this hurts our knees!"
A fairy guide then soon arrived
"I see the little ones have thrived
Welcome to our sacred realm
Don't let the colors overwhelm"
"You're welcome into fairyland
Please let me take you by the hand
You've been chosen on this year
Because your spirits have no fear"
"You always follow your own path
You think and feel and do the math
You never think to condescend
And that’s behavior we commend”
“You treat the forest with respect
And new ideas you don’t reject
That is what we look for most
So I’m proud to be your host”
So lift the veil on this Beltane
And with your fairy friends remain
Join us in our vibrant play
It’s Fairy Daddy-Daughter Day!!"
