Dancing With the Troll

I thought I had a poem tonight
But now I know I don't
Just sending advanced warning
So, I absolutely won't

Keep you on pins and needles
You friends, that read my art
That thrives on pen and paper
With paint's essential part

The troll came back to me today
In all his glorious blaze
So, now I do a tango
I know the game he plays

With his baton, he takes the stand
Prepared to change the key
And leads his group in trollish-scales
A music not for me!

‎Omnia bona erunt !
I've danced these steps before
I need to find my rhythm...
Sweep the strangers from my floor

It's really not a mystery
No mischievous, wayward elf
Is tearing me asunder
I'm dancing with myself

One-two-three, one-two-three
I must keep the beat
My heart is bold and sturdy
Conductor--Take your seat!

Demon troll, be off with you
I'll show you to the stairs
Remove your dissonant orchestra

That my dance impairs
